My new mcs arrived this week. Thats the good news.
Bad news is that I can't get my home-built aux i/p cable to work with my ipod.
I made a connector from a CD-ROM audio cable as described in an earlier thread.
I,ve tripple checked the wiring, L+ to pin 3, R+ to pin 4, R/L- to pin 10 of the
unused connector on the rear right of the HU and I still can't get the AUX
to come up on the display. I have the single boost CD HU, which now comes
with CD prep as standard on 2005 build cars, but I don't think that will have any effect.
What I was unsure about is how to wire the 3.5mm jack - I,ve assumed that
(from the tip), its L+, R+, R/L-. I,ve tried swapping the L & R over as I was
unsure of which was which, but again, I didn't think that would matter to the HU
(apart from the audio being swapped). I know that the plugs/sockets are
making contact because I ended up removing them from the plastic connector
and connecting all 3 sockets to the pins individually on the back of the HU.
I know the ipod works, and I,ve tried various volume levels.
Perhaps its not pins 3,4 and 10 on the new mp3 compatable HU?
