Most BMW brochures list the ordering codes next to the colors and trim names, but the MINI brochures i've seen have nothing.

Specifically, I am looking for the trim code for the Tartan Red cloth/Black Panther leather.

This is what I want for my US car, but looks like we aren't going to get it. I'm hoping I can custom order this color.

That's a good idea to seek out the trim codes. When my wife ordered up her E46, she wanted a combo available in Europe and Canada, but not in the US - Titanium with Sand Beige interior. BMW NA ordered it up for us at no charge. I know that other E46 owners have ordered up cloth interiors as well at no charge...so your idea is a good one, if your MINI dealer will work with you.
