How do I know if my 2006 R52 MC has a Gen 1 or Gen 2 CVT box ? | MINI Cooper Forum

R52 MC has the CVT through 2007.
R52 MCS has the much better Aisin
auto transmission.
Gen 2 R57 2008+ has an Aisin for both models

Correction - convertible models:
R52 goes from 2005-2008, not 2007.
R57 from 2009-2015
F57 2015-present
