Hello guys,

Feel stupid asking this question but reading the oil level on this thing is pretty confusing, no wonder why people are driving the car probably without oil and breaking it...!!

Can anyone please explain me how to read the engine oil dipstick? Thanks again!!

My method;

Put glasses on.
Pull dipstick and wipe clean.
Replace dipstick for a count of 2
Pull dipstick and hold horizontal, slowly rotate and look for bottom of lowest dry bit - thats your oil level.
Repeat to double check.

Or you could spend 80 euros on a replacement thats easier to read!!!

if hard to read as on most Prince petrol engines, perhaps with the stick out hold it horizontally and dab it on paper, lift away, wet mark is a level guide, repeat for sense check

1st thing in the morning for sure. the oil will have run from the tube that houses the dip stick and the oil wont be covering the readable part of the stick. As everyone has said, hold dipstick horizontal and rotate to read levels.
