I've had two that were faulty, original hood then the replacement which has only one bar of the heater working. Seems to be a generic fault that the hrw gets damaged easily. I can live without it as am in a hot country. Only fix I can think of is to buy some of the conducting paint and find the breaks and paint them. Easier said than done. You can check the circuit at the connectors to rule out fault. Other weak area is the two cables that run through the hood material to the window, these take a lot of movement when putting the lid up and down and may break.
