I live in a good area and my car lives on my drive well back in from the road, and after all weekend sat on my drive this morning I find someone has stolen my body coloured fuel flap. It has not fallen off as the plastic teeth have been snapped off. Nothing else damaged and no fuel stolen.
Unfortunately as Mini's get cheaper Chavs are getting into them it seems.

You might not want to hear this, but I had one replaced as it fell off, and it took a couple of goes to get a decent paint colour match, even then it wasn't perfect. This was on an Indi blue Cooper.

Maybe time for a Cooper S filler?

I thought maybe the fuel also, but its not a locking flap.
I think you will find the flap does lock with a small actuator into a slot with the central locking on all MINIs.

I bought a new S Cap complete on ebay for around £55 and painted the inner part with a spray aerosol to match the car. Try some of the specialist MINI breakers if you just want to replace the standard flap, you will probably even get a used part the right colour.

Also, it is not necessarily MINI people doing this, plenty of kids will take bits / vandalise cars just for the hell of doing it and then chuck the bits away down the road.

Seconded. My missus managed to do this to our OWN car.

She'd locked it as she got out and then tried to open the flap. Most cars these days operate a similar system so that no one can nick your fuel. Luckily for us, she still had the part.

Just out of interest, if you fit the Cooper S flap aftermarket, does it lock?

You won't need the plastic hinge just the metal flap cover.

Such a shame. Sorry to hear and should be an easy but expensive fix. Unfortunately they just twist off.

I fitted a S cap to my One and it wasn't easy but bought it off ebay for around £50.
