Just returned from Long Mini. It's now official: we are a 2 Mini family! Here is a quick pic of the new arrival:
Initial impression (with all of 25 miles on the car):
The 6 speed transmission is silky smooth, but the 1st. gear is a bit tall, as others have commented. No big deal, though. And, I think I can get used to it in a hurry.
Handling is obviously great and the ride/suspension is not as stiff or bone rattling as I remember from my test drives several months ago.
Fit and finish are superb! The leather smells great.
It will be VERY DIFFICULT keeping this little monster under 4,500 rpm's! At about 3,000 rpm's it just wants to take off.
Liquid Yellow Cooper CVT -w- white roof & mirrors and sport package, leatherette, xenons and 16" 5-Star alloys (in our hot little hands) and,
Dark Silver Cooper S -w- white roof & mirrors, premium & sport packages and lapis blue/leather (also in our hot little hands).
How sweet it is Bill! That is an awesome looking garage.
The most fun I have had since I picked up my evil twin of yours last Friday is letting some of my doctor friends who are porsche owners drive the Cooper S and shake their heads on why a $20k+ car performs as well as their $80-90k porsches.
One of them wants to swap his carrera s4 for a week with me,
I said no!
Hey great pics bill I plan on getting my car at the longbeach mini also. Did you like the experience any gripes or raves? are they charging at sticker? gimme info please any info would help I plan on ordering soon.
Twiggy: We have bought 2 MINI's from Long Beach MINI ... so I'd have to say that we like them! (We are probably one of a few people that actually have taken delivery of 2 cars.)
They are honest! The sales staff are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. They sell their cars for MSRP + selected dealer add-ons. But, from what I have seen they don't "pack" the cars outrageously. My Cooper S went out the door for MSRP + mats, that I specifically asked for. There were several Coopers on the floor for sale yesterday when I picked up my S, (including a great looking BRG CVT Cooper with a premium pack & green leather interior.)
