It is very sad for me to write this, but my father Edward, infamously known as MaxaMini has passed away. We are surrounded by friends and family, but deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of my father. He was an incredible man, a wonderful husband, and an unparalleled father. Lastly, he was a devoted Mini owner. You all were very important to him, and the last years of his life were filled with many great adventures with many of you. He was so proud to be amongst your ranks and he was truly blessed with many fond memories of his time with you all. He will be missed but forever remembered. God Bless you all. As we get more details I will post them here. Thank you all for your friendship and support.
I'm so sorry to hear this news. I had such a great visit with Ed recently at Steve's place on the Cape.
When my own father died, a very long time ago, the thing that was most important to me was hearing the large and small ways he connected with and touched others. We'll have a lot of stories for you about our special times with Maxamini.
I'm speechless. How can someone so young (at heart) just disappear. My next mini mod is a duck in Ed's honor. He truly brought so many smiles to our community.
I saw him saturday. he showed me hartford. he was starting a new job. he took me to a grinder shop. he shot a beautiful picture of che under the hartford arch. How he must know i already knew i miss him so much.
I think we are going to need two threads...maybe this one for all people to post to, and another one for info on the upcoming service and things like that.
Also, this thread needs to be somehow linked to the UK and/or OT forums. Ed posted so much over there...I mean who can forget about the story of the MINI meet in, I think it was Ireland? Ed called up 411 and got the number to the pub that the gathering was at. A call was placed to the pub, and minutes later, Ed was buying them all a round.
W-T-F?!? Sorry I can't be more eloquent than that, but eloquence and shock don't really reside in the same neighborhoods. Man, this really ****es me off, this is just wrong.
He will most certainly be remembered as a great guy and a truly unique individual. My last communiqué from Ed was a private message last Friday with the subject "Max". In true MaxaMini form, all it said was "Ha Ha Made you look"...
As we were leaving the Town and Counntry on the Sunday after MOT, we stopped to say goodbye to Ed as he was loading his golf clubs into the MINI. It didn't take too much goading to get him to tee off over the road onto the fairway for the benefit of the camera...
i want to thank all of those who will miss him and I beleive that in my heart a little bit of him resides in all of you. Also evry day that you guys drive your mini's drive in the manner that he would drive but without crashing your beloved mini's. Ed is loved and sorry that he will not be a part of your mini rally's. But beleive me in spirit he will be the one who will egg you on to continue to drive faster take chances and embrace life before it passes you bye, IN LOVING MEMEORY, HIS SON DAN!
