In Appreciation of MaxaMini

It is very sad for me to write this, but my father Edward, infamously known as MaxaMini has passed away. We are surrounded by friends and family, but deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of my father. He was an incredible man, a wonderful husband, and an unparalleled father. Lastly, he was a devoted Mini owner. You all were very important to him, and the last years of his life were filled with many great adventures with many of you. He was so proud to be amongst your ranks and he was truly blessed with many fond memories of his time with you all. He will be missed but forever remembered. God Bless you all. As we get more details I will post them here. Thank you all for your friendship and support.

My deepest sympathies for this terrible loss. MINI2 introduced me to Ed. I enjoyed bantering with him, getting my feeble mind around his razor sharp wit, and laughing with him on these forums. He will be missed.

About two weeks ago I received a parcel in the mail from Ed, containing not one, but two of the fabled 'Maxamini originals' Duckies. They will stay with my MINI in honour of Ed.

A sad loss indeed. R.I.P MaxaMini.

This is truly sad news :(
My deepest sympathies to you and your family.
I'm in shock...

considering it was my LI run with a stop at the Big Duck... that got him started...

he will be sorely missed.. Truly one of a kind....

My sympathy to you all. May your memories keep Ed with you always,

Mary (Australia)
Ed was the neverending smile of the NE MINI Gang... I am shocked and deeply saddened by his sudden death as are we all

I can still see him in the pouring rain at the MOT tent Changing the outfit of the 'main duck' to formal attire before the food started to be served... smiling as he did so
My deepest sympathy and support to his family and close friends
Oh gosh I'm so sorry to hear this :( What a shock - we were only bantering the other day.

My sincere condolences to you and your family. And may Maxa rest in peace.
OMG that's terrible news!!! I only had PM from him Wednesday talking about fishing and kayaking. He always said that if I found myself across the pond he would take me out and show me the sights.

This news has deeply saddened me, I'll miss him so much. Keep the pics and tributes coming.

Rest in Peace Ed.
Condolences to you, his family and all his friends.

I never knew your father personally, but I knew of him, read his comments here with interest - they were usually wacky and funny - and Goonery & I took a couple of those yellow, plastic ducks with us to photograph on our recent trip in the States for him.

I'll remember your father fondly, even though I never met him, for his unmistakable love of life and people:)

We've lost a great friend :-(

Sincerest condolences to all Ed's family and everyone that knew him eother personnally or via the M2 community. Even though we never met, we spent many hours on e-mail and provate messages chatting about life the universe and everything.
Ed sent me some very fine gifts across the pond, The Route 66 sign, T shirts, and above all his incredible wit and humanity expressed via the communications we shared. It was part of a plan to meet up someday and share a beer or two. Now sadly that will never take place. I for one will remember Ed as a great buddy who always had time to to keep hold of reality but with a fun side on top.
I'll miss you Ed.
What? Ed is gone? :(

Oh my God, I never met him, but he sent me a t-shirt unprompted from the Dragon Run via Ruthie last year, and we were to meet when we went to the States in September. We had discussed travel arrangements.

I'm really saddened by this - his charm, goodness, kind nature and his soul shone through his posts and PMs.........he was a good, good man and it showed in the text.

May he rest in peace...........my sympathies to his family. :(
My deepest sympathies to all of your family :(

Unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to meet Ed.
He embodies what make our community so great, may he rest in peace.
Here is a link to another thread which I have moved to General Discussion..........

I never actually met Ed, but have read his enthusiasm within M2. He will be missed on these forums. Condolences for his family, judging from the response so far, he was a much loved guy. His memory will live on.

Peace
I really don't know what to say, I didn't want to believe this, how can one that was loved so much and gave so much be taken from us so suddenly:(

Ed is what makes this place great, he gave so much to so many, his love for the MINI, and making others laugh, it brought so many of us together. I would get bizarre PM's on the odd occasion from him, he made me laugh, and his wit was unique.

I always expected one day to meet him, I thought one day there would be a knock at the door and he would just turn up insisting on going for a drive, that would just be his style:)

Reading this makes me so sad knowing I shall not be lucky enough to meet him, but it also makes me smile to think how one man can have touched so many, he really will be missed. My thoughts are with you Dan and your family.
Really saddened to read this, never met the guy but obviously held in high regard by everyone here. My deepest condolences go out to the family.

:( :( :(

A truly sad day, his humour will be sadly sadly missed
I'm so sorry, and thanks for letting us know. Why, just the other day, I had my antenna duck sitting on my desk at work to cheer me up through a 12 hour day.

Condolences to all of Ed's family & friends.
