Hi everyone, new to this forum hope someone can help.
I have a 2010 Mini Cooper s 184bhp
Started getting this message “increased battery discharge “ Thinking the battery was on its way out I bought a new amg start stop battery and now every time I start the car I get this message along with the car on a ramp thing. If I turn the ignition of after a couple of minutes the fault clears itself until I stop the car and leave it for a while and then the whole process starts again.
Can anyone advise me on how to fix this please ?

No I have not registered the battery, didn’t even know you had to do that.
How do you register the battery?

Has to be done through diagnostics it still thinks the old battery is fitted, if that makes sense.

If you have a diagnostic tool that can do it, then do it yourself if not it will be a garage. Autocom CDP+ is recommended by people here and is capable of lots including battery registration.

I'm having the same issue. Upgraded my battery to an AGM type and registered. But still have the issue. I suspect it's the Garmin dashcam I've installed, powered via the ODB port. Must be drawing a little too much at startup and trips the warning.

I’ve put a new battery in and registered it with the car and all seems good so far. Start stop is back working to.
