In the last 2 day:
(Cold - 0 Celsius and dry - Not sure if that's related)
my indicators have taken on a life of their own.
Intermittently, they flash far more rapidly than they should do i.e. The delay on the flash goes crazy.
Is this a dodgy relay?
Is this indicative of a wiring short
(not noticed any consistency with operating the brake pedal, or other device).
Has anyone else experienced this?

Does it only happen in one direction? If so, could be as simple as a faulty bulb. Have a look outside when its doing it and see if any of the 3 bulbs aren't flashing.

- Rob (with fond memories of old minis which sometimes had trouble flashing at all!)

It sometimes happens when one of the bulbs has gone in the lights. Have a check to see:)

Thanks boys....
I plipped the lock remote last night, and noticed I was indicating to pull out rather than "flashing all fours"!
Hoping it's just a dodgy rear lamp cluster bulb.
Any ideas how easy it is to change it?

Strange that the two front lamps now blink on-off about 15 times a second. Would have thought that they would carry on as normal.
Anyone got a degree in electrical eng and can explain this?
Perhaps the broken filament is intermittently shorting.

Did have a blown passenger window relay when I picked the car up, and the voltage reg. was also replaced.

My 10 year old Audi never had a blown indicator bulb ... Moan, moan moan!

On a diff. note:
My London dealer couldn't book the car in until Jan 8, or the 21st if I want the car picked up - And they've moved to a less convenient location too.

So I called my local dealer...
No problem having warranty work done at their garage instead.
When would I like to bring it in?
(Stunned silence at this point)...
What, no booking?
Yep, just drive it round and we'll do it whilst you wait!
What, even on a Saturday?
Yep.
(Perhaps I dialled Kwik Fit by mistake ;) )

Full marks to First Front Wimbledon... Will let U know what happens @ weekend!

Turned out to be a faulty connection on the nearside rear light cluster - Fixed by dealer whilst I waited.

First Front Wimbledon - Excellent service, nice friendly relaxed mechanics, nice clean comfortable good sized parking, and waiting room.
