Hi there,

I have a 2008 Clubman S with 6 Disc CD, Nav and 'Full Blueooth with USB'.

I plugged my 5th Gen 80gb ipod in to the USB tucked under the switches in front of the cup holders and the ipod says do not disconnect. When I go to Aux on the nav screen I manage to find the ipod but it does not let me look at the library by song, artist, album and instead shows me folder label f01, f02 etc and then inside the songs are just 4 letter filenames.

To connect the ipod I used the standard Ipod USB cable.

Am I missing something?

Is there a setting I need to change to allow normal ipod menu access?

Thanks,

Yes in order to use the full Ipod functionality you need to connect your Ipod to the car with the BMW/Mini Ipod Y cable.
Prepare to say goodbye to £39.95 when you buy this from your local BMW/Mini dealer.

Unfortunately this is the cheapest, and only way of doing it. As soon as you start using it you'll forget about the money though!
