Hi Guys,

Just wondering if this is normal for the diesel engine, was on level ground and in second gear, no gas, but car was traveling along at 11 mph quite happily. should it do this, don't remember my last diesel doing it.
Any info welcome before it goes into garage on Monday.

Cheers
Pete

yes this is normal. its the torque on the engine. i travel in 6th gear no gas at 30mph on a level road. its great in built up area's or when the police are following:D cant get done for speeding then lol;):D

Pretty much anycar will do this, petrol or diesel. Diesel will do it better as they're more torquey and harder to stall :)

I've noticed this too, and it seems to be a normal feature (i.e. "it's a feature, not a bug" :D). Seems that most modern diesel cars do this nowadays, but I never noticed that with my Golf V. Must be 'cause the MINI's lighter :D :)
