Hi,

I made a small mistake and now the car doesn't do anything. I tried to retrofit the alarm and after installing all the parts I tried to program it with ISTA/P. I successfully started the programming, but when I tried to get out of the car the hard drive where I store ISTA/P unplugged a bit and lost the connection with my laptop.
I tried to reconnect the hard drive, but the whole program froze and I had to restart my laptop. I wanted to redo everything and when I went to ISTA/P it asked for part numbers of modules.

I terminated that and it started another programming for modules or something like that. I went with it hoping it would fix everything but it stuck in a loop. When it asks for programming mode, I click on complete programming and when it asks for replace modules, I select all of them as replaced then continue. Then it starts over from programming mode.

I feel bad because I really messed this up. I don't know what to do. I don't want to go to a dealership because they would probably ask a lot of money for just programming and it's far away, and it also needs to be towed because the steering wheel is locked.

The car is a 2007/03 Mini Cooper S R56 US spec

either find used ecus and keys set and then your car becomes that cars ecu's as such id cheapest option, link link below
or main dealer chance are main dealer might not be able to recode it if all the codes are lost , that said should still having something on keys to work with, i've been working on these cars for many years and always leave such jobs to people who have all the gear and the idea to go with it, same as when remap a car or even reset adaptions etc you always copy a back up copy file at beginning of such things and same to laptop , so if a rewrite of a file gets corrupt you can rewrite it ,, and also always have battery charger on car when doing such jobs and ensure when writing them you dont have risk of stopping part way through as that always bricks them, I know this info is no good to you now but those two options are about as it goes,, as its done the CAS unit as well and bcm my sounds of it,

I'm not sure you want Replace as the option. Try just updating the I level of all the modules.

You need to find someone who really knows BMW coding and programming. They may be able to sort it out remotely. It's likely to need the factory tools such as WinKFP, NCS Expert.

A dealer may well be in the same situation as you with ISTA-P unable to recover the situation.

You must have the car connected to a power supply, ideally 14.5V 80A, when programming. If not you could brick it again. Personally I occasionally risk programming one module with a fully charged battery and a 13.9V 20A PSU connected.

Replacing the ECU isn't an option for me.

I have both WinKFP and NCS Expert on my laptop.

UPDATE 2:
After turning the ignition on, ISTA/P recognized the car. Yes, I was stupid again lol. ISTA/P showed that only the code was missing from the ACSM so I ran the coding process which was around 5 minutes and all my ACSM related errors went away.
