Just put in my order, how long does it take to get a production number? :green:

It takes a couple of days. Your motoring advisor ought to be able to get you one fairly quickly.

Another question for the January group: once you get a production number, how long does it take to get an assigned production date? (I don't have one yet and am a bit anxious about it.)

Cheers.
I don't know how, but when my MA gave me my production number, she also told me my production week would be the second week in January. Ask your MA!

Just to check any future disappointment, If I were you I'd tack a few days to that 30 day estimate, especially if 1) your car just misses getting loaded onto a west-coast bound boat at SH, and has to sit there another 10 days or so waiting for the next boat, 2) your shipper (it takes 23-26 days just to make the SH/ Port Hueneme journey) is delayed or slowed due to weather, and 3) if your car is held up at VDC for whatever reason, like the wrong tranny oil put in at the factory

You are in CA so at least you don't have a long truck journey from VDC to dealer, so that helps. Just to give you an idea: my MCS was completed Aug 8th. It didn't leave SH until Aug 23nd. Didn't get to PH until 9/17 (delayed 2 days by Ivan.) Held at VDC until 9/27. Took delivery 10/2 (in Denver.) That's 6 days short of 60--after completion!

Good Luck! Jimbo

PS throughout the process my car was listed "in production," even at VDC!

Thanks for the reality check.

I will be taking delivery at Classic Mini in Mentor, Ohio. Hoping that my MA's experience holds true and it is close to the 30 days. Either way I am OK...the fun will come sometime in later Feb. or early March!

So you're going right to Classic to pick it up? Cool! Nice ride back to Ojai. Don't use your cruise control and vary your speed. Fun, indeed! Jimbo

Yes...we'll be doing the drive back. Thinking of a southerly route. We'll head down to visit New Orleans and then head west through San Antonio, El Paso, NM, AZ and back to CA. I want to avoid snowy weather if possible for the first months of our new baby's life. I certainly will keep away from cruise and vary speed. Looking to get my first oil change outside of New Orleans at about 1000 miles. I am a bit old school about that.

It certainly will be a fun and adventuresome vacation!

Our CR/CR MCS was finished today and is going to wait for a ship. I am told that it will take about 1 week to get on one. Then 10 days or at sea. Then another week until it gets to our dealer. Hope it stays on schedule!

For those of us on the Jingu Maru, I just found a Zeebrugge Port website that shows the Jingu Maru as just having left the port.

Next stop.... New York ..

I am not familiar with the English ports, but I understood the Jingu was being loaded in Southhampton. Is this the same as Zeebrugge Port?

For those loaded on the Jingu Maru

Did some searching and found that the Jingu Maru has the following schedule:

Arriving in:

New York on Jan 31
Baltimore on Feb. 2
Charleston on Feb. 4
Brunswick on Feb. 5

Knowledge will help set us free!

Brit_Boy,

Thanks for that. I am now resigned to just relax. I am scheduling that I will travel to my dealer in Ohio on Feb. 22 anyway, thus as long as the Jingu makes it, VDC does its job and the MCS is ready to go then, all will be well. Nonetheless, it's fun to keep track.

Roadshow sent me a copy of my quote, Couldnt ask for better service

My MA at my request has given me an exact price for both vehicle, accessories and fees.

As far as tracking which vessel, I copied my VIN from the Owner's Lounge and input it on WW site at the Auto Cargo tracking. This told me it was the Jingu Maru. Their site is:

Had already found tthe above site but input my vin, pressed track and nothing happens.
Also where in the OL did you fing your VIN, I got mine from my MA[/QUOTE]

Where you can see your ordered Mini...the specs and such. It shows your production number and VIN.

It may be you are on a different shipping line....I am not familiar with all the different ones used.

Someone else hear might be able to suggest where else to look!
