They all come with the lower smaller hole blanked off for some reason, just pop the blank out and then fit (only held in with the rubber).
I don't see why they would leave the blank in as that would mean you have less air than stock below 4.5k
hi,
my jcw airbox arrived today and i have a question before i fit it - there are 2 holes on the back fo the airbox (the end nearest the windscreen) the larger one being open but the smaller circular one being closed - is there any reason for this? - i would hae thought 2 inlet holes would be better than one!

i've removed all the wiring, vacuum stuff etc. that operate the flap. from what i can tell there isn't a natural tight seal around the lower hole, there's a small gap,-a couple of mm, the rubber lining around the lower hole and the black casing that replaces the standard black separator - with just the lower hole, in the engine bay, the upper hole has a tight seal making good contact with the black casing. i'll probably get some rubber liner and glue it on to combat this. other wise, i would assume, it'll be drawing in a proportion of air from the engine bay.Defo boot it out, took both mine out and the electronic flab gubbins... love it! It's made a noticeable difference to my inlet temps over the open top Atla V2.
