JCW Exhaust?

746 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  MINIGT50
I am interested in eventually retrofitting my car with a JCW kit, but I was wondering if this is possible to do incrementally. For example, I was curious about possibly starting with the exhaust and intake, then going from there. Or has anyone ever heard of a JCW exhaust being sold anywhere by itself.

Last question is whether the 210 HP upgrade is possible for my 04 MCS.

i'm on the lookout for a jcw exhaust, can't afford the insurance for the whole kit, but it's not available on its own any more. Up until about 2 months ago, you could buy them separately, but jcg have tightened things up, and you can only get parts if you can produce chassis no etc of your car, thus proving you already have the conversion. boo hiss i say!
Funny enough i rang a local BMW garage who dont sell Mini's but will source the parts and asked if i could order a JCW Air intake
he said no problem and would sell me the part for €350.00 or any part from the kit seperate so maybe talk nice to your local BMW dealer
also if someone you know has the kit fitted or if someone would let you use there VIN number you could use that to source the parts maybe??
a friend of mine did the same thing for his BMW 3 series seemingly they wont sell you a M badge for your car unless its a genuine M,
so he used someone elses number and got the part
i know you can buy these from any auto store but he wanted the real thing!!!!!
Thanks, I'll try that. And Nylo you bring up a good point for me to ask about to US MINI2 members. Is there a difference in insurance for JCW equipped cars? I wouldn't think so, as there is no way for them to tell, or is there???????

The supercharger, head and injectors are not sold separately.

interesting points mate, worth thinking about, hadnt thought of 'borrowing' someone elses vin no.(next thing, anyone fancy 'lending' me their vin no please?! ;) ) what about this garage you've spoken to about parts? if you dont want to post their details here, would you pm me? i've tried speaking v nicely to my dealer, and he's a sound bloke, so i dont think he's telling me stories when he says he cant get the parts unless its a jcw registered mini...
Good point MINIAC, I would be wasting my money if I wanted the kit later, as it would come with the exhaust anyway. Oh well, I'll wait.
