I don't know if this has been covered yet but my cursory search didn't reveal anything....

Does anyone know when the rev limiter kicks in on a stock MCS? Is it modified with the JCW upgrade kit? Is there a soft limiter first and then a hard limiter?

I know that the MCS's peak power is at 6000rpm and the JCW is around 6950rpm.

I think, after about 19000 miles of JCW driving that I might have forgotten about the original car's limiter. I actually hardly touched the limiter pre-JCW but I seem to remember thinking that it hadn't really changed too much, i.e. it seems to be about 7000 rpm.

With the original car I didn't bounce off the limiter too much because the car would stop pulling when it got above to 6.5K. I don't think the manufacturer's idea of peak power is quite right, but I would say that it is below the JCW car. The car (for the last 20 months) just keeps pulling all the way to the redline meaning that I bang it off the limiter now a lot more than I'm used to.

The rev limiter for both is the same.....7K

Actually the stock redline is 6,750 rpm. Not sure what the JCWs is.

And the fuel cuts off at 7000K.......
