I am thinking of buying a 2008 Mini. The car is advertised as JCW but the Log Book identifies it as a Cooper S. The car has various JCW bits (door foot plates, badges etc) and a print out from the local Mini main dealer that it is indeed a JCW however it does not have the JCW sills. Is there any way to positively identify the car as JCW?

If you're UK based enter car reg and it'll tell you if it's factory JCW

It must be a later update but in that case there should be a certificate I think and none exists. Is there any way to tell, by examining the engine, if the work has been done?
