Well, I popped into my local Mini dealership this afternoon to collect a few replacement parts and thought I'd take the opportunity to change some of the customisable options which the User Manual mentions. Apparently the dealer can quickly change a few option by quickly programming the key fob. Cool - I thought.

They wanted £58 to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Obviously I said no.

Crazy.

Thats probably about half hours labour unfortunatly for most MINI dealers :(

I had my 1st gen MINI ONE programmed by them when I bought it, so then I didnt have to pay.

They are dead crafty though, it takes virtually no time to do the job, ive watched it be done!

Yes, they said about 30 minutes.

I knew that it wouldn't take that long - it really should be a free service. It should be about Customer Service. Charge for the 'real' activities but not for the small, simple, non-complex ones.

Oh well, I'll just live without it being 'personalised'! :)

You could probably get anything to go when you open the car.

I would like it if the lights came on when you opened the car, that would be cool.

So could you programme it to turn the headlights on when you start it?

DRL's?

like a volvo?

Nylo has her Mini programmed to turn the lights on when its started.

I've been trying to get a copy of Carsoft Ultimate which is the diagnostic software.
