Be very very wary of buying a Mini Cooper Clubman 2013 model because the key fob is a closed unit and you cannot replace the battery. Battery on the same car 1 year earlier would have been replaceable at a cost of £5. I have to pay over £163 to replace a key fob when it might just have needed a £5 battery. Disgraceful.

I just got a 2012 Coupe and the second key didnt work. I found a youtube video that showed how to replace the battery and did(had to be soldered in), only to find out the key is not for my car. I see keys on Ebay for $20 that say you have to get them programmed, but I seriously doubt any locksmith can program one of these, and I doubt a dealer will program an aftermarket key.
