Hi all,

I noticed some water on my dash after a rainstorm and some dampness in material at the top of the car. The molding along the top of the windshield is old and cracked and i was wondering if that could be the problem and if i can replace that molding without removing the windshield.

I apologize for this late response, I am a new member to this site.
I install windshields for a living, 40 years now.
The molding around the windshield is basically a decorative piece. It does not seal the windshield at all.
The urethane adhesive that seals the glass is actually under the first 3/4 inch of glass.
My guess would be the windshield has been replaced at some time and wasn’t installed properly.

Does your car have a sunroof? If it does you need to blow through the drainpipes, if they are clear then you will need to lower the headlining and check the drainpipes are properly connected.
