My MCS has Dunlop runflats and has noticeably lost grip. The tires are bald on the outside shoulder, on the left side, because my regular commutes envolve a lot of highway entering and leaving (right turns) and less roundabouts (to the left).

Since, when turning, the tires suffer more wear on the outside shoulder (more still because they are runflat) the "grooves" are gone so now there's a nice flat surface.

Now, I know the tires loose grip as they worn out but wouldn't a "slick" like surface provide better grip instead of loosing it? I guess it has to do with the rubber compound degrading (?)
