Hear ye, hear ye:

In accordance with our bylaws, the time has come for our Annual Meeting. Said meeting is to discuss club business and hold elections of officers for the upcoming year. At least that’s the official small print lawyer reason, but we’re planning on having a 2 day wingding! Some fun stuff – then the meeting – then more fun stuff.

The Fun Stuff starts on Friday the 27th at 2:30 pm. We will meet at the BMW Zentrum off of I-85 in Greer for a tour of the facility. Each tour will hold 20 people and the cost is $5.00 per person. The tours will start at 3:00 pm. If we have enough interest they will also cater a dinner for us inside the museum, the cost for the dinner will be $20.00 per person. They will be parking us on the grass to accommodate photos and a group picture. We must have an accurate head count, so that we can let them know.

The official meeting will be held at the Century MINI Dealership, in Greeneville, SC.
Date: Saturday August 28th
Time: 11:00 am. You are welcome to arrive early for refreshments provided by Century MINI. They will also have their Service Advisor and 2 MINI Technicians available to speak with us before and after the meeting. We have also been advised that the parts department will have some giveaways for us, (free stuff)!

More Fun Stuff:
After the meeting, we plan to combine a drive into the Hill Country and show support for a Blue Ridge Parkway (BRP) Benefit for those that desire.
Route: Start point - Century MINI and drive up 178 through Rosman and then up 215 to the Parkway. Depending on time we will either follow the BRP to 276, or continue off the BRP down 215 to 276 and head south back up to the parkway.

From here, those that will be attending the BRP Benefit will enjoy a dinner meal at the Medford Family Hunting Camp on the East Fork of the Pigeon River, adjacent to the Shining Rock Wilderness Area, and Graveyard Fields. This is just off the Parkway near the Cold Mountain Overlook between Waynesville and Brevard. We should arrive at the benefit around 4 or 4:30 pm. There is a maximum number of MINIs allowed (approximately 15) so registration is a must for the benefit. Cost for the benefit, including dinner, is $65 with $45 being tax deductible.

Those not attending can either head into Asheville to pick up major interstates to all parts of the world, or back track down the mountain into SC.

Houck from the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation will be posting some updated info about the benefit at the following link BRP Benefit Info

If you need hotel accommodations we have secured the Wingate Inn off Pelham Rd in Greenville. When you call mention the group MINI and your rate will be $59.00. The price will be for both Friday and Saturday night, if needed. Wingate Inn Greenville

With the exception of the BRP drive, these events are for m2c2 members only, so now would be the perfect time to join and lend a hand in making this club how you want it to be. Those interested in becoming Officers or Chapter VP’s please contact any of the officers listed on our club website: m2c2

RSVP here or at [email protected] with information on which, if not all, events you will be attending. BRP Benefit RSVP’s can be made at [email protected]

Look forward to seeing everyone and those new members.
