Metal Clunking Noise in the Engine Bay

I've had this going on for awhile, I'm just not sure what it is. I have an R56 Cooper S (Manual) and when you accelerate at lower RPM's, because I tend to shift right around 2500-3000rpm, there is a metal clunking noise in the engine Bay. It only happens at low RPM's and when accelerating. It's not the timing chain, because I just had the tensioners checked and they seemed to be fine. My only real good assumption is that it might be transmission mount or engine mount related. Anyone have any guesses?

dual mass flywheel maybe, engine running get someone to put clutch down and up see what noises you get if this makes it clunk then flywheel on last legs,
What's interesting is the car makes a funny noise when releasing the clutch right after a down shift without a rev match. It's like a small whoosh or grinding noise. It's hard to explain. Ik that you should be down shifting without rev matching. It doesn't grind when selecting gears, it's just when you release the clutch after selecting the gear. I figure you might be right about the flywheel being on its last leg.

you also tend to get vibration and some drive line shunt all depending how the flywheel fails some lock up and the vibrations can be eye blurring or centre bearing fails and clutch pedal heads to the top of travel, or the internal springs break or weak and get loads of drive line shunt and vibration etc this is the worst to have as will destroy gearbox ignorred for to long
I checked today, and there is no funny business with the clutch. No noise or anything out of the ordinary. This clunking noise only appears when the car is warm and moving. I'll try to get a video on it soon, if I can catch it at the right time. ?
