Hello to all. Recently I bought 2008 MINI 1.4 petrol engine with 155 000 km. Engine is burning oil, I have to put 1 liter of oil on every 800-1000 km. Is this ‘’normal’’ thing on this motors, or there is something to check out like PCV valve or something like that? Should I try with different oil? Now is 5w30 in it, castrol. Any help or advice will be appreciated.

This is apparently to be expected. I use about a quart of oil with every tank of gas. Same oil. I tried changing my PCV (the entire valve cover) and it did not improve.

That can’t be normal :/ .. engine rebuild is just to much expensive, parts are half the price of the car..

Yep, valve seals...

I had the same thing, and using about a litre every 1000 km.

The proper way is of course to change them, but it's an expensive job.
Instead, I put Forte seal conditioner and oil fortifier in, and that stopped the consumption completely, no oil use at all now, no blue smoke. It's a cheap fix that's worth a try.

Its a dealer only product, if you want to try it pm me and I'll send you to the guy I got it from.

Cheers!

Dan
