I wonder if you can help me ? My son has a 2002 Mini Cooper and the problem is, The gear stick went all floppy as can move easily between gears and there is no drive at all. I thought the cables that go from the gear shift to the box must have come loose so we removed the battery box and they are connected to the gearbox. You can move the selector shaft in the gearbox (rotate and lift up and down)easily and doesn't feel like it is doing anything inside the gearbox. So has anybody got any ideas of how to fix, the car is not worth a lot being rather old,
Hope somebody has an idea ?
