Hi there,
I’m a new member and I would be very grateful if anyone has any experience with ABS warning light coming on after Mini dealer fitted new power steering pipes, a new front alloy wheel and new font brake pads/ both front discs, Mini dealership charged me nearly £1500.
The very next day the steering felt awful, the car was veering to the left all the time while driving and then the ABS warning light came on so I stopped the car, I restarted it again after a couple of minutes and the ABS light went off. I also checked the front tyre pressures and there was quite a difference (don’t know how the Mini dealer technicians missed that?!)
The next day the ABS warning light came on again so I stopped & restarted the car but this time it didn’t go out. Phoned the dealer and they came & collected my car. They’ve had the car since Friday. Today (Tuesday) they’re telling me that the ABS warning light was off after they did the work and that it’s nothing to do with the work they did fitting the new brake pads, new discs, power steering pipes etc. They say the following work is needed to correct the ABS and steering problem; estimated cost is over £600!:

They won’t accept that the problem only started after they fitted the new alloy, front brake pads & front discs. I have been invited to meet with their technician tomorrow so if anyone has had similar experience I would be grateful for your help.

Hi had similar experience after fitting new disc and pads to the rear of my 2005 Cooper convertible. It had no brakes and abs light was on.Took the car to a mechanic friend and he plugged it in to his software and reset the abs and everything was good.

Hi thanks for letting me know about your experience. I have just been over to the main dealer and they said they have already reset the ABS but it’s still on continuously now. So now told it also needs new sensor and wheel speed indicator as well as all the other stuff!:((
Thanks again for trying to help 😊
