Mini F55 Home Light (Follow me)

Hi, have a brand new F55 with Home Light feature set at 20 seconds. When I switch off the car both headlamps and door-knob lights switch on. However as soon as I lock the car with remote key all lights go off irrespective of the 20 sec time delay. Have also tried extending the time to 40 or 60 sec with same issue - as soon as I lock car all lights switch off. I have read that the feature would be used to walk away from the car in dark ambience but this cannot happen if lights go off as soon as car is locked.
