Did you replace the main bearings too? Worn mains will cause this.

That would be the "big end bearings" in his original post.

No the big ends are the conrod bearings, the mains are the crankshaft to block bearings.

If the mains are worn you will get exactly the symptoms you describe. Unfortunately if they are worn to that degree the crankshaft journals will also be worn or oval and a reground crank and new shells will be required which is an engine out job.
