(Rust) you got that right. That paint was soft toweled it's whole life. Your headlights are in excellent shape. Mine are also. What I ordered was that clear bra plastic stuff only for headlamps. So it's a bit beaten up. I saved my old ones I will go over them disassemble them and restore and seal them up.
Nothing I can see drive and enjoy it! Check into the mini forum. I myself am still looking for a mini phone holder to purchase that don't have to tear into the dash to install. I have one but I think it might be for your year and it does not work on mine it's too big. It's a cup holder that slides into the cup holder with a bracket to hold the phone upright.
