Hey guys!

Just recently purchased a Mini One from 2013 (latest models using BMW N47 engine). Heard these are supposed to be the ones more trouble-free when it comes to Timing chains (but not immune).

Well, car runs really smooth without any noises. However, after being sit for a few hours or cold starts he gives a 1-2second rattle. Mechanic said that it should be the tensioner and if it doesn't go worse - not to worry about it for now.

Car has around 117.000 kms and always had servicing in BMW and oil changes almost every year according to the service manual.

Wondering if I should worry or not (I don't hear any rattle or slamming after those initial seconds and car is "purring" normally.

Here goes a video I uploaded:

Thanks!
