Mini R56 non s n12 problem - View image inside

Fuel consumption increased by 50%
When the car starts, it leaves a black mark.
The check engine light came on.

What could be the problem.

It's over fuelling, possibly a stuck open injector, you need to get the code read. If it's misfiring, disconnect the ignition coils one at a time with the engine running. The one that makes no difference in engine sound/speed when disconnected is probably the problem injector, they are quite easy to replace but depressurise they system via the Schrader valve on the fuel rail and be very careful of the petrol spilling out and the obvious fire potential this could cause. If your not 100% confident, get someone else to do it.
In the service they say that vanos is a problem. but whether vanos can cause oil on the exhaust?
