Mini r57 radio on config mode/ safe mode

Hi all, newbie here. i have a r57 auto model on a 2013, with a standard mini boost cd. After taking out my battery to fully charge it, the radio has gone into config mode. The only options it allows me to do is, time/date, temperature change and mph to km.
I have looked on the net, but nothing in relation to this. I have called mini, but obviously they will charge me for diagnostic, or pressing a few buttons. Maybe a hard reset or guidance on inputting a radio code in, can fix this problem. Thanks in advance.
