Came up in the s speccin' thread, I posted this over there....

Good ol' photoshop.

Anyways, they've never ruled out any possible variant, including the moke, although we're most likely to see a five door first, and also the "clubman" estate before anything like a Moke.

Auto Express started on this idea in 2001....

Our first ever news article on MINI2:

5th January 2001: Moke on its way back? BMW has encouraged stylists on the new MINI project to let their pens run wild..

Not quite so, they've often said it was possible, then said it was pretty much ruled out, more recently it appears to be far more likely again. They've made them, but that means very little.

:)
Picked up Auto Express in the newsagent this morning. It's good to see the brand back, but the styling is a bit... shall we say... iffy

That's OK, as it has nothing to do with MINI/BMW, just (probably) Brenda Priddy or some other company that DOES get good spy shots, but also has a habit of making up stuff like this.
i must admit i dont like it. The thing that shocked me the most was the approx cost. Only £1,000 cheaper than a MOC. No thanks, i would rather stick with my so called girlie MCC.
If these are genuine pictures- the car looks cheap, and plasticky almost toy like. A prototype would, to a degree anyway wouldn't it?.
Vulgar styling.
BMW had better watch out- they run the risk of cheapening (image wise) the whole Mini brand with this sort of idea and some of the other possible 5-door etc variants. Are they going to milk Mini for all they can, and then ditch it when it becomes too corny and therefore unpopular.
