brought this yesterday and fitted it this mornin, 2 things which im curious about, wondering if anyone can comment on these.

1, i ran the engine for less than 5 mins and the brace had already become red hot, as it sits on the bonnet cover thingy is this ok???

2, it actually pushes the bonnet up, by about 10mm hmmm?

One thing you left out is wheter you have a Cooper or Cooper S. Reason is that if the bar is sitting on the Battery box or just ECU and air intake. if sitting on the Battery this is more of a concern.

1) after 5 mins of running the engine should it get hot.
. Was the car sitting still or moving for the 5 mins.
. if sitting still yes the engine bay can get very hot in 5 mins and the bar is at the highest point in the engine bay where all the heat is trapped.
. if moving (and its a cooper non-s) I'm worried it may be causing the battery to have a slight short at some point.

2) it acturally pushes the bonnet up 10mm..
. This is a concern it should'nt effect the bonnet setting down on the car and should be looked at right away.
hello, the ca is a cooper (non S)

the engine heat thing is ok then, as it wasnt moving, the bonnet being lifted by 10mm tho... it does sit on the battery cover, but is pushing it down, so its almost as the design of the strut brace is at fault and is too high??
There was a thing a while ago that when you fit a strut brace on the cooper and shut the bonnet it actually dented the bonnet from the inside. I think it was Mini Cruiser who had that problem.
