Need help on trying to keep my Temperature down on my 2009 Mini Cooper Turbo S? If I dont keep the Fan on High and on low it goes to 221 temp.

Is there a way to keep the Fan on High other that the switch?

225f temps is 105c this correct this is where mini petrol engines after 2006 are meant to be running at ,, ie its got a 105c thermostat latest version of running 105c if its running 112c then its got old style and needs changing if anyone else reading this, these engines are designed to run to hot for emissions reasons and to allow them to run more lean,, trouble is causes higher combustions processes and wear in my book, changing oil and filter at 8k is better way forward as oil suffer for it and cause sissues later down the road
I would check to see if the radiator is flowing as it should be. By draining the coolant system. Then filling it back up. And using the bleed screw on top of the thermostat housing. unscrewing it for 5 seconds while the car is just started running. Then closing it off for about 10 seconds. Then unscrewing it for another 5 seconds. Then shutting the valve. Once a day after a 20 minute drive check the level of coolant in the overfill tank it should be filled only halfway, as that is the max level fill, or to the seam between the top and lower half of the plastic container. I would continue once a day checking the level. As I add more coolant and make sure none of it is spilling anywhere. just until the max line or halfway. After that the portions would get smaller and I would add a half of a glasses worth at a time until it gets back to max or halfway.
If the car is not taking any coolant into it. And it seems like it is just at the halfway mark.
I would consider getting another thermostat housing. preferably a genuine mini cooper thermostat housing.
Then I would also remove the radiator as it could be impeding coolant flow. Lastly I would buy a new Radiator fan or Fan relay for it. To get it running again.
One way to tell if your coolant fan is operational, is to have someone start the car while you look into the engine bay. And you will see the fan run at 20 percent of it's full power briefly. If it's not doing that it is broken.

you dont bleed these engine like that,, you open or remove the bleed screw and fill header tank to the top keep topping it up untill all air is out the bleed screw then you start the car,, THESE ARE NOT DESIGNED TO BE BLED WITH ENGINE RUNNING WILL CAUSE DAMAGE AIR LOCK IN THE HEAD AND NAIL HEAD OR HEAD GASKET,,,
need a diagnostics tool to monitor the temps as well ,, you have no mention of what temp the fan should come on at,, really important bit of info that,,, 107c-108c in the normal on cars after 2011 as have new lower temps housing from factory early cars had 112c and fan wont cut in until 112c to 115c,, if your giving people info about a fault that could cause thousands of pounds worth of damage at least them them the facts and if dont know them save them the pain of destroying their cars from bad unprofessional advice,

The engine cannot be truthfully serviced by a mechanic. The end. It needs to be babysat by the owner over a course of days. filling the overfill each time without passing the lower half of seam between the lower and upper part of the plastic halves of the overfill tank. Letting the car lower in level how ever much. And toward the end one tops it off with a shot glasses worth of coolant.
Reasons like this are why most mechanics turn it away. Except the ones that don't mind doing bad business and taking people to the cleaners. Which is about 80 percent of them as it concerns mini coopers. Because there nissan loving bad people.
And that is why I went to sparks steakhouse New York in october 2013. People think they can turn the world on it's ear over everything. When It just takes one person. To not agree. That's all. And person needs to know what there doing!
