Need some help with a tail light issues on a 2010 Clubman.

I hit a deer a couple of weeks ago and my car is still at the shop. After they made the repairs I was told that now the tail lights don't work. They "can't figure out why" they no longer work and I can't get my car back with lights that don't work. SO has anyone had this happen or know why the lights may not be working? Someone told me that there is a control module up by the front driver's headlight but haven't been able to find any confirmation on that.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
