Hi

My R53 (March 2006) JCW is in need of new tyres.

I have only done 10,000 miles in the car, would it be advisable to get new brake pads at the same time. I have the JCW Sports brake fitted.

Thanks for advice.

Only if you want to throw money away:rolleyes:

The car will tell you when the brakes need doing, and should be good for at least 20-30k miles

Not unless they need replacing! Generally the minimum recommended brake pad thickness is 3mm.

As Rakey says, your car will tell you when your pads need replacing by illuminating a light on the dashboard BUT its best to catch them before this point because it will save you having to buy a new wear indicator. (the light on the dash illuminates when the wear indicator touches the disc and wears thru its metal strip which breaks a circuit, turning the little light on)

If you are really itching to spend some extra cash its worth getting your tracking (wheel alignment) checked when you put new tyres on.
