At the moment I have a Mini One Convertible which I picked up 6 weeks ago. Im bored with it already and was thinking of trying to change if for a tin top Cooper S. What im asking is if there are any essential extras to the chili pack??

This is what I plan to try and order:-

MCS
HB/W
Bullets
Chili Pack
Body Coloured interior
Chrome exterior
Tinted windows

Anything else that any of you lot couldn't live without bearing in mind that im trying to keep to a budget of around £17k

Thanks in advance!!

That's interesting. Looking at you gallery, you used to have a Mini One that you are missing. What's wrong with the convertible to make you "bored of it already"? Genuinely interested to know...

Theres just something I dislike about the car. I can't put my finger on it thats all. Don't get me wrong its a great looking car, the roof is great and a wonderful piece of engineering, but I do have some problems with my MOC. Firstly I find it very slow and doesnt feel as 'alive' as the tip top, not saying its a bad car, just my personal opinion. Also I feel that its not worth the money i paid for it and I do have some reservations about the roof getting slashed, damaged in any way, and the massive cost of replacing it
That's interesting.

I sat in a convertible today and what with the sunshine and everything...

However, it's interesting that you find it disappointing to drive after your old hard top. I think I would forever be worried by that canvass top as well.

Seems to have answered the question, hard top Cooper S it is then. For the budget you've got all of the essentials there and the best colour choice to boot! If the convertible really doesn't do anything for you, I'd got for it.

Tigger.
I don't know if it is an expensive option there, but I would add a sunroof! That way you'll be able to keep some of the open feeling of your convertible in your new coupe!

Nothing is essential bar the MCS  anything more is your own personal taste, and budget :D
If you don't have a garage, the heated windscreen is fab. I think you can only get this as part of the visibility package but I ahve only had my MCS 6 days and I love the heated windscreen - went to teach a spinning class at the gym this morning at 6.30am and whilst last week I was scraping the ice off the windscreen, this week I was sat inside my MCS and 10 seconds later I was driving off! Lovely!!

I have the HB/W which I love too! I didn't go for the chrome exterior as I don't think that the MCS needs any additional chrome - I like it as it comes - but again that's my personal taste. You may want to add a CD player. I also have the MFSW which I really like too - but again this isn't really a necessity.

On the MCS the chilli pack is pretty much all you really need.

Yes I think there are a few of us 'MINI brochure copycats' :D Although it is just pure coincidence honest guv
Only had my MC for 11 months, and until Friday it is the best, most fun, large grin-factor car I've ever driven. Then 10:30am on Friday will arrive, and I'm just soooo excited :p

So glad to hear that your HB/W MCS is utterly fantastic, and Grimbo's review just confirms everything so well. Oh these days just drag don't they? :(

I didn't intend to copy the brohure either but hey, if it's in the borchure they must think it's one of the best colours!

the days do drag - but not long now for you!!! Unfortunately my mpg isn't great in the MCS - but wasn't really expecting it to be! However still not filled it up yet as only done 150 miles so far!

Won't be long for you now! Hang in there!!!

Well exactly, and I just added the white bonnet stripes to both cars just to be slightly less useless at deciding on a colour for the MC and MCS :p

Not too long to go, hey that's easy for you to say :D :D :D Yep not expecting the mpg to go above 30, and before it's run in it must be even lower. Only 150 miles in 6 days  stop typing n clicking and go give it another drive :p

You're right - no sympathy now!! Too be honest, I chose to wait this long as I knew I wanted the car on 1st March so preferred to order it well in advance to make sure I got it.

Not long to go for you now though!!!

Got any pictures to share with us of your new baby ??
What part of the convertible (other than the performance) do you think is not worth the money? I am interested as I am about to slap down my deposit for one.
