New: Dash mounted Oil & Temperature Sensors

Silver Surfer mentioned in another thread ( http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3459&perpage=15&pagenumber=1 )that he is getting the "new" Oil & Temperature sensors fitted under the chrome switches on the dash. Apparently they are in the new MINI catalogue.

Anyone know anything more about these, and maybe a picture ?

Thanks.

Monsta, note these options are not limited to the S only... I've asked my dealer about it, but had no idea when they would come available... don't count on it being anywhere soon ;)
Last time I heard, nothing from the accessories catalogue would be available until March. Given that their spares are taking up 3 months to arrive (I've been waiting for a seat since last November), I'd add another couple of months to that to be on the safe side..

Plenty of time to save up then..;)
That looks really good. It fills the otherwise useless gap under the toggle switches. If the price isn't prohibitive i would consider getting them fitted. If anyione ever finds out a price, could they post it. Thanks.

Oh wow, I was hoping they would be gauges...... Wonderful.

Thanks Mutts.

My S is going to cost me small fortune by the time i've finished with it!!!..... Keep bringing it on BMW.

 too. That brochure shows a 5 speed box. so presumably gauges would be available across the range.

Isn't the gear shifter different for the steptronic. What's that about then, or am I dreaming once again ?
I quite fancied getting these guages also when I saw them in the accesories brochure, however the things that sprung immediately to mind are that they don't match the other dials, in terms of facia and needles, along with the fact that the gap where they fit is actually quite large so they may be a bit intrusive.

I'd love to have them myself, but I'm just not sure....

Hey Mutts, where'd the photo go ???.

By the way, there aren't many replies here which I find really suprising. Those gauges (that you used to be able to see !?) are fantastic !!.

cheers

The colour is a good point. Maybe BMW thought them less obtrusive in black. Bet they add to the ambience at night though.......FANTASTIC.....got to get those gauges. I can hear BMW's cash register from here.......

:)
picture gone???

Basil,

the picture didn't go anywhere, I can see it just fine...

PS when I saw the brochure, this was the only MUST HAVE, however, the colour point is a good one, makes me rethink a little, also, since the place they put them has a large hole behind it I wonder what they'll do about the wireing...
which brochure is this in then?
is there a new one out that i have missed

my dealer mentioned them to me today asked if i was interested, but i said no
but now i have seen em !!!!
I agree - the guage colors should match the tach/speedo!

Good man.

Thanks

:)
I had another close look at the Dutch brochure yesterday, in there it is stated that the look of the gauges are made to match that of the airblowers in the dash. They sort of do... mmm nice, very nice.
The brochure doesn't mention any prices or when these options come available.
If you haven't seen the full brochure yet, one of our members has scanned it in, here is a link: http://www.dave.mcrae.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm
(thanks Dave, hope you don't mind...)
Daves page

i cant seem to open it?
I get the main screen with the blue car
then click on accesories but the pictures are blank with that little red x in the top corner and when i click any i get page cannot be displayed!!

Help!!!
It seems the pictures are no longer on his site.. :(
