Mini One 1.6, 2002

Hi everyone!

Im having problems with my mini- about four weeks ago it wouldnt start, and I called the AA. After about half an hour he assertained it was the fuel pump, gave it a little knock whilst I was turning it over and off it went.

I put it in for repair at my local dealer- they plugged it into the disagnostics and they came back saying nothing was wrong.

It has been failing to start about once a week since, with a quick knock on the fuel pump it has started, but now it wont start at all.

Im assuming that the fuel pump will need replacing, at a cost of £300! Is this the case or is there something simpler/ cheaper I could try?!

Thanks in advance!!

Even though the symptoms may point to the pump I'd double check the fuel pump relay which is the lowest relay in the left kick panel i.e. by your passangers feet. It's cheap to replace and relays fail more often than fuel pumps.
