Well I'll say one thing, you don't do things by half's;)

Is it alright to cover your amps? Don't they need air to keep cool?

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that lot set you back?

pitty you could not have some off the kit on display, or at least hidden somewhere easliy accessible, if u wanted to c a couple of pics of my install then have a looksie in my gallery.

Front Speaker Installation

Graham,

I am about to attempt to fit a set of MB Quart 5 1/4" component speakers. I understand the MINI originals are this size.

I hope they will be easier to fit than your 6 1/2" set - that looks quite a special set of adapters - what do you think?

Did they have to make space for the crossovers in the door casing? Or do they squeeze in an exising space?

LMB I had the speakers and amps from previous car, but to buy the rest and get it all fitted was about £4000:eek:
Although amps are covered there plenty of space under false
floor and they also fitted a fan to help circulate the air.

mini-mini
I wanted to keep as much as posible out of sight although I
may get a clear false base made up just for special occasions, also the amps are quite easy to get to u just take out the sub and the false floor comes straight out.
The Kenwood kvt-920 is a lovely piece of kit, did look at it
but with their sat nav system it was a bit much even for me
I will take some more pics tomorrow.

Silverstone
I would imaging the MB will go straight onto the existing mounting only problem might be is with the depth, make sure
they dont get in the way of the window.
I believe they just mounted the crossovers straight in.

Alarm is working fine I hope! but keep waking up during the
night because I tink I can hear things:)

Also just sorting out some ice insurance with a company called FIREBOND costing £262 for £5000 pounds worth of cover but u have a 10% excess of total value. But hopefully
will never have to use it.

Anyway must go I think I can hear something again:D :D

Do you have more than one company that insures ice? I'm installing some ice, too, and had to find an insurance company for my ice, only 1 company accepted. Now I'm paying 35 GBP per month only for ice insurence :(

I would have thought that thier would have been more companies but couldn't seem to find any:confused:

Shop recomended Firebond and also they are recomended in a couple of mags, so just decided to go with them.

The crazy things is Ice insurance £262 and MINI insurance
£265 I guess they work on the principle that the ICE is easier to steal, but the way my gear is bolted in they would have to nick the whole car:D
