Hi Guys and Girls,
After a few failed attempts to buy a mini, I've finally picked up a 2017 manual 1.5 countryman today!
Seems to be a lovely car, plenty of toys and gadgets.

Couple of questions if I may:
1. Is there a way of turning the flashing fin tale off?
2. Can you change driving mode whilst driving without causing any damage to the car?
3. Does anyone use the mini connect app? Whatever the benefits of it?

Hi, I haven't checked the questions out technically but my assumptions are:

1. No, but actually quite useful to locate car eg in dark multi-storey carpark or a quick check to look out onto the drive to see if alarm is set
2. I have changed between settings whilst on the move and so far no untoward consequence
3. Use the app to see where the car is on a map. Good when out for a walk visiting a city and want to find way back to car. Can see whether main service items are ok. But giving it an instruction seems to be a waste of time eg took over 5 mins to flash lights and then not consistently.

Thanks for the reply, just starting to investigate all of the toys!....i really like go kart mode!

The car is for the wife but it appears I'm enjoying it more! Ha ha

Mini Connect App...if you are unsure if you locked the car are not First you can check its lock status and second if you did forget can then lock it.
Dissagree with above commands sent to my car are normally completed in 20-60 seconds which is fine for locking and finding the car etc ?

Thanks for the reply, I'm stuggling with the app. Download and it's asking for vin number, but then says can not add the car...the connected app in the car doesn't do anything when I connect the phone via Bluetooth or USB.

I went to the Mini Connected site on my laptop and opened an account there, then installed the app on my phone and logged in using the credentials I used to create the account online.
I struggled with the app on the phone before I did this.

Delete the App from your phone first and then try this method.

Also flashing fin can be turned off if you have a Carly OBDC reader/programmer, all manner of other things can be done too like locking/unlocking sequences, mirror folding, lights behavior, seat temperatures and absolutely loads more, Lloyd stuff your dealer can program for you but will charge the earth for...
