Noticed a smell of burning oil from our recently purchased R55 Cooper S. No apparent smoke from the exhaust or oil contamination around the tips. It seems as though oil is dripping from a leak somewhere onto the hot exhaust, explaining the symptoms. Suspects for the leak include brake vacuum pump and turbo oil feed. The valve cover seems leak free and the timing chain was replaced 3k miles ago.
Anyone have any thoughts on most likely candidates and ball-park cost for garage fix?
Thanks in advance...
