oily intercooler

hi guys,

I bought the alta intecooler cover, and i tried to install it yesterday, and after i took off the intercooler i found the inside of the two ends of the intercooler are very oily, it seems like they are engine oil.

is this a common problem in MCS? or is there something wrong with my car?

my car has only done 4000km

It is normal.........although people will try to sell you a catch can for it.......
but i mean does the can actually work?

because i bought one for my last car, it wan't really working, i never see oil in the can.....

anyone tried the alta oil catcher tank? any good?

also, if i change a better quality of engine oil, will that reduce the oil getting back up to the intercooler?

Yes they work but they also just reduce the amount that builds up in the IC. So sooner or later you end up with a gooey mess.
You've seen how easy it is to remove the IC. Just pull it once a year, or more often if you wish, and flush it out. Brake cleaner works well.
