According to the 14 Jan issue of AutoWeek: "about a year from now MINI will offer official aftermarket speed parts for the car from John Cooper Works". Sounds like this is when they will be available at MINI dealers.

Of course the facts could be wrong as in the same news item AutoWeek says MINI prices start "at $18,000" instead of the actual price of $16,850.

So, who knows?

There's a lot of speculation out there about a lot of stuff:
he said, she said sort of dialogue....in the end,

who does really know?

Then again, you'll see a ton of folks who say they know, but do they really?
who knows?

I wouldn't bother upgrading a Cooper. If you want more power, buy an "S". I was thinking of upgrading my Cooper (chiping it or JCW kit), but I am going to keep my money and buy an "S" in 2 to 3 years time (the "S" should be a well sorted motor by then). I'm well impressed with my Cooper as it is. ;)
