Can anyone give me reasonable answer/ solution to this issue. I call a garage and I get told they need to do a diagnostic test, surely they know what it is, there mini and BMW specialist. I doubt they're stumped by my issue. I'm pretty sure they've come across this issue before

What year is your MINI, and do you have the CVT transmission?

Things to check when having overheating problems:

Are the radiator fan(s) working?

Debris in the A/C condenser and radiator fins choking off air flow? Trash likes to collect in the space between the two as well.

Is the coolant low? Are there air bubbles in the system? How well does the heater work? Low coolant can cause little or no heat to come out the vents when the cabin temperature is set on full heat.

Is the thermostat working? Maybe replace it on general principles if more than 3 - 4 years old.
