Overheating

I have a Mini Cooper mk2 100k problem expansion tank bubbling no white exhaust smoke no milk on oil cap engine running good fine but going through tons of water no visible leaks HELP

if have bubbles from coolant tank then suspect gasket or cracked head at worst, if removing the head for gasket change do the full hog hone the bore fit new piston rings and big end bearings and deffo have all the valves out clean and reseat and new valve stem seals is a must i must of done 20 cars in past year and all run perfectly now link below for idea
i got another one turning up tomorrow 2010 cooper s jcw convertible with running issues its done 100k and shows all the signs of age and wear ,, good thing is they respond well to a refresh as long as got good oil pressure 40-80psi
Hi mike thx for getting back took car out after letting it idle for 20 minutes did a 10 mile run no coolant lose but amber temp light come on then went off maybe thermostat or expansion cap no bubbling either head burst so any information would be handy
thermostat housing must be genuine or febi bilsteen is very good looking around £80, beware of these cheap ebay ones they are rubbish have only had hassle with them is the past,
these engines run very hot anyway

Do you think that’s the problem with the car going to do a sniff test and c what it reads just to be sure if test is good will that mean no hg problem how reliable are the tests
test will show if any carbon monoxide in coolant,
