So I got my aftermarkets a while ago and I still havnt got them painted white. Problem is I dont know many places to go.

Does anyone know any good bodyshops etc that will do the job. Im in nottingham but dont mind too long a drive.

I found a place that have quoted £75 a wheel (£300). Seems a bit steep to me.

I believe it's a much harder compound, but I don't know about that.

As for where to get it done, here in Leicester (not too far away) there's a good alloy specialist who'd probably do it for you - I know when I had my S-Spokes redone they did an amazing job, and since they take it back to bare metal I don't see why they couldnt then recoat it in a different colour.

They're called 'Performance Alloys' although they're in the Yellow Pages as '1st Performance Alloys' and it was about £50 - 55 a wheel all in. Will probably take a couple days though as it's a fairly involved process (baking etc) so if you don't have a spare set / can't do without you might be out of luck.

I found I guy who will do them for £50 a wheel which is what I wanted . He has my wheels now so Im back on my originals for a bit. 16'' RF's all the way baby.

He recommended powder coat which is what he is doing. Anything else would eventually peel away.

Funny thing... The guy who originally quoted me £300(first post) is based around the corner from this new guy. Turns out that he doesnt actually paint the wheels himself, he gets this other guy to do it for him.

So i would be paying an extra £100 for someone to walk them around the corner and back from the guy who is now doing them for £200!

Got my Painted alloys back earlier. The geezer only had them 2 days.

Got some pics, My car didnt look right covered in filth with blinging white alloys so I had to clean her first.

Im looking forward to cleaning them over the winter months! :eb:

Just a tip. Wax them with a good synthetic product, they'll be easier to clean.
I think Autoglym makes a product you can find locally. Forgot the name though.

I use the zymol wheel cleaner product, beautiful stuff but im running out.

The water and dirt should run off before it decides to ruin my Bling-Blingers.

I imagine he's had that done by BMW, like I did, when new - tinting (of ANY level) is now illegal in front of the B pillars ... backdated to Jan 1st 2004. They can order you to have them taken off if it's fairly light, and even confiscate the vehicle on the spot if the tinting is below a certain light transmission level (can't remember what though). Not that I've heard of it happening if you haven't blocked them out completely.

Shame really, cos I think they look a little weird with only the back 1/2 tinted, but hey.

I asked my dealer where I could get some aftermarkets put on the front. Cash in hand, You aint seen me right kind of job.

Iv actually got my passenger side tinted at the moment. Some frigin **** decided to smash my driver side through ! The tint was the only thing holding the window together!

If Autoglass fit one of your windows, Check theyve fitted it properly before they leave. The windows they supply arnt the right shape.
